USA Today reports the 2007 emission standards for diesel engines go into effect today.
Trucker drivers and fleet operators bought record numbers of 2006 model trucks, avoiding the higher costs of more expensive 2007 models. Truck manufacturers celebrated the sales, but are now wary that there could be a drop in future truck purchases.
While the new emission standards are praised as a victory for clean air and the reputation of diesel engines, many grumble about the cost of new trucks and upgrades.
Now that 2007 is here, are you ready? Did you buy a new truck? What do you have to say about the new emission standards?
